An independent outlet lives on its articles loading fast, reading well on a phone and getting shared. Zona Docs publishes every day, long-form reports on human rights, disappearances, feminist resistance, territory defense, migration, science, culture and the environment, produces radio and video, receives donations and belongs to alliances with other independent media. All of that needed a home that could handle the volume, organize dozens of sections without losing the reader and give the newsroom the tools to publish without depending on a developer. The challenge was a solid WordPress editorial platform, with the technical base of editorial SEO solved (article structured data, speed, categories and tags) and a home page that showed the depth of the work without becoming a wall of headlines.
