The challenge

A destination almost nobody knows

Mayto isn't competing with the hotel down the street: it's competing with the belief that the Costalegre coast is impossibly far away. Before anyone even considers booking, three things have to be answered — that it's a 15-minute flight from Puerto Vallarta, that you sleep right on the sand, and that there is a 12-temple astrological park that exists nowhere else — and all three had to fit into a single scroll, in Spanish and in English.

Our approach

A whole destination under one name

Hotel, private airstrip and astrological park: the challenge was making "Mayto" mean a place, not three businesses.

Business model

Mayto is a beachfront hotel on the Costalegre coast with its own airstrip and an astrological park. Revenue comes from hotel nights, but the airstrip and the park are what make someone fly out there instead of staying in Vallarta.

Strengths we leveraged

Its edge is geographic exclusivity: nearly empty Cabo Corrientes beaches and the option of arriving by light aircraft. We designed the site as a destination guide, with the hotel as the base and the airstrip and park as the reasons to choose it.

Competition & positioning

It competes with boutique hotels along the whole Costalegre coast. We worked the destination keyword ("Mayto", "hotel in Costalegre", "Mayto beach") with content that answers what is there, how to get there and how long to stay, so the site becomes the reference for the place and not only for the hotel.
