Tours & Travel

Journey Vallarta

A WordPress website for Journey Vallarta, a tour and experience operator in Puerto Vallarta: one page per tour with gallery, description and direct contact, so the traveler books without going through Viator, GetYourGuide or the hotel desk.

The challenge

Direct bookings without the middleman

A tour operator in Puerto Vallarta sells almost everything through third parties: international platforms, agencies and the sales desks in hotels. Every one of those bookings pays a commission and none of them leaves the customer data behind. Journey Vallarta had the operation and the personal service; it did not have a place of its own where the traveler researching from home, or from a pool chair, could see each tour, understand what it includes and write directly. The challenge was to build that channel: a clear catalog, one page per experience and a short path to the booking, without turning the site into a brochure nobody reads on a phone.

  • ✓Domestic and international tourists who book one to three days ahead
  • ✓Local experience and personal attention as the real differentiator
  • ✓Every direct booking keeps the full margin and the customer contact
  • ✓Competition from Viator, GetYourGuide and the hotel desks
  • ✓The traveler compares four or five options in ten minutes on a phone
The solution

What we built

A WordPress tour catalog where every experience has its own page and its own contact button, designed to be read and booked from a phone.

  • ✓WordPress site with a tour catalog organized by type of activity
  • ✓One page per tour with description, duration, what is included and its own photo gallery
  • ✓Direct contact to book from each page, with no long form and no sign-up
  • ✓Titles, descriptions and headings written per tour for the specific search ("Puerto Vallarta tour" + activity)
  • ✓Clean URL structure, one per experience, so Google indexes each tour separately
  • ✓Responsive design with large buttons and photos that load fast on hotel Wi-Fi
  • ✓Links to social media and to the platforms where the operator already had reviews
  • ✓WordPress panel with a ready template so the operator adds tours without a designer
Our approach

Tours sold from the site

A tour operator lives on how many bookings arrive direct versus how many pay a commission.

01

Business model

Journey Vallarta operates tours and experiences in Puerto Vallarta for domestic and international tourists. Revenue is per booking, and the real margin depends on how many arrive direct versus how many come through Viator, GetYourGuide, agencies and hotel desks, which charge a commission and keep the customer contact. Most bookings are decided once in town, one to three days ahead, from a phone.

02

Strengths we leveraged

Its strength is local experience and personal attention, something a platform cannot convey. We built a WordPress site with a catalog by type of activity, one page per tour with gallery, duration and inclusions, and direct contact to book without leaving the page. The operator can add tours from the panel without depending on a designer.

03

Competition & positioning

It competes with Viator, GetYourGuide and hotel sales desks, which dominate the first search. We worked titles, descriptions and URLs per tour ("Puerto Vallarta tours" plus the type of activity) to capture the traveler who researches before arriving, and left every page ready for the reviews it already had on the platforms to become an argument of its own.
